Burgess Owens, who performed from 1973-1982 for the New York Jets and the Oakland and Los Angeles Raiders, received Utah’s Republican main for a U.S. House seat, based on The Related Press.

“We’re very, very excited,” Owens said as early numbers came in. “This can be a district that each events want – the Democrats want it to maintain their chaos, and we want it to maintain our nation and our tradition.”

Owens will face Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Ben McAdams in November, FOX 13 reported.

In one other U.S. Home race in Utah, Blake Moore held a slight lead over Bob Stevenson within the GOP main for the first Congressional District, whereas Democratic candidate Darren Parry led Jamie Cheek by 5 %, FOX 13 reported.
