WASHINGTON – The Commerce Division on Thursday added seven Chinese language supercomputing entities to a U.S. financial blacklist citing nationwide safety issues.
The division added Tianjin Phytium Info Know-how, Shanghai Excessive-Efficiency Built-in Circuit Design Middle, Sunway Microelectronics, the Nationwide Supercomputing Middle Jinan, the Nationwide Supercomputing Middle Shenzhen, the Nationwide Supercomputing Middle Wuxi and the Nationwide Supercomputing Middle Zhengzhou to its blacklist.
The seven entities have been blacklisted for “constructing supercomputers utilized by China’s army actors, its destabilizing army modernization efforts, and/or weapons of mass destruction applications.”
